Sheep Shearing
Every year, Llangattock Ploughing Society runs a shearing match which has become a popular highlight of the calendar. The match is normally held in June. Admission is free.
This year the match was held on Sunday 13th June, at Graig Farm, Cross Ash near Abergavenny, held there by kind permission of Mr and Mrs N Turner and Mrs J Turner.

Around 30 shearers took part with top honours going to Ian Jones of Hundred House who was the Champion Shearer. The winner of the Lewis Chandler Cup for the cleanest shorn sheep was local shearer, Dan Greenhill.
Well-known shearing commentator, Steve Meredith, gave a lively commentary on the day's events which culminated in a fiercely contested and exciting Speed Class which was eventually won by the Champion Shearer, Ian Jones.
A highlight of the day were the tractor rides to the top of the Graig Hill (1,390 feet above sea level) which offered extensive views of the surrounding countryside.
